The Buckskinners Muzzleloading Association Limited was formed in 1978 with 8 members. We still have 3 remaining charter members.

The Purpose of the Club shall be to promote good, safe marksmanship and sportsmanship.

Our Aims & Objectives are to encourage and promote knowledge and its application in the proper care, handling and enjoyment in the science of black powder shooting, whether in competition or otherwise.

  • To encourage and promote the establishment of courses of instruction in the use and proper handling of firearms in both target and field use.
  • To encourage and promote co-operation, understanding and sharing of Buckskinning knowledge and skills among the Members of The Club and Members of the general public.
  • To make available all information on rifles, guns and ammunition or anything pertinent to the shooting and handling of black powder firearms.
  • To provide or build adequate facilities and resources to accomplish the above stated objectives and aims.
  • To encourage members to adhere to the following pledge:
    • I shall consider my word a sacred trust, not to be broken or taken lightly.
    • I shall cheerfully share in the tasks and work to be done.
    • I shall follow the rules and principles that govern the Buckskinners Muzzleloading Association Limited.

Our Range is located on McLaughlin Road, approximately 7 miles north of Moncton, New Brunswick, on Route 490.

Our Chief Range Officer is responsible to ensure safe shooting practices on the Range, including the establishing and publication of safe range rules and procedures, and ensuring all Range Officers are properly trained. We have 12 Members who are qualified Range Officers.

Active Membership is open to any individual who is interested and makes application in actively promoting the aims and objectives of The Club. Membership fee is $30.00 per person or $40.00 per family.

Our Club meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at our club house, and our regular shoots are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at our range.

Officers of the Club are:

  • President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, all Chartered Members, Chief Range Officer and Historian.

 

Election of officers is held every two years in December.

Our Summer Rendezvous is held each summer with details further on in this site.

We shoot paper targets at 100 yds., 50 yds., and 25 yds., we also shoot gongs and other primitive targets at 75 yds and 15 yds. Other related activities include knife and hawk, archery, black powder cartridge, and primitive/period camping.
